Wendy’s Shake It Weight Management Challenge

Week 2.
Commencing Wednesday 14th July


Current weight: 65kgs (lost 1 kg)
Waist: 76 cm
Love handles (hips): 100 cm (lost 2 cms)

I’ve reflected on last week’s effort and the areas I didn’t control were the portions of fruit, only 1 piece per day is allowed. I love fruit or should I say I love sugar hit I get from fruit and the simple sugars in fruit are very addictive and counter productive with low carb diets creating insulin resistance. This week I will eat only 1 piece of the allowed fruit per day.
The week barrelled along with me sticking to the program with out difficulty, until the weekend, a fairly social weekend again. Drinking alcohol definitely slows the process down as you tend to relax also with portion sizes after a couple of drinks. I don’t bother drinking during the week believing that we all need a few alcohol free days each week for good liver health. But despite the weekend I did loose weight.

I experimented with more Shake It combinations this week and came up with a few good ideas, bananas would be my favourite but they are full of fructose and not on the allowed fruit list.

My Favourite Shake It Recipes
In all the shakes I make I put 1 dessertspoon of ‘Bowel Flakes’ & a teaspoon of Meta Oil (sort of fruit flavoured, not bad) and place all ingredients into a blender so it fluffs up like a thick shake.
Added to Vanilla flavoured Shake It powder:
•    ½ a pear & ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
•    ½ and apple & ½ teaspoon cinnamon
•    ½ cup frozen berries – the mixed ones are very nice & 1 teaspoon Stevia powder (herbal sweetener, naturally occurs in the leaves of the plant & that has 5 kilo joules per teaspoon
Added to the Chocolate flavoured Shake it powder
•    Shot of espresso coffee
•    1 heaped teaspoon on unsweetened cocoa powder mixed with warm water & Stevia powder

21st July weigh in day
Weight: 64.5kgs I only lost ½ kg but at least the numbers on the scale are moving down
Waist: 76cm same
Hips: 100cm same
