Wendy’s Shake It Weight Management Challenge

Week 3.
Commencing Wednesday 21st July

Current weight: 64.5kgs (lost ½ kg)
Waist: 76 cm
Love handles (hips): 100 cm

The aim this week was to change some of my strategies:
1.    Cut back on fruit - having ½ a grapefruit in the morning with my breakfast
2.    Cut back on the Keto Bars  - ½ a bar per day
I implemented those measures without difficulty. The grapefruit for breakfast was sprinkled with bowel flakes + the Meta Oil and was particularly nice so will continue with that idea. I wanted something warm for breakfast as we had some cold mornings and the shake just wasn’t what I wanted so I needed a delivery method for the bowel flakes.
I had eggs pretty much every morning either scrambled with curry powder and a handful of mushrooms or spinach or just soft boiled.

Instead of a ½ a keto bar twice a day as a snack I had almonds and pecan nuts or just too busy to remember to eat a snack.

I used the Shake It Soup for lunch mostly which I loaded with a couple of handfuls of vegetables and chillies or that lovely Lebanese spice called Harissa – goes well with scrambled eggs too.

Found the Meta Oil works very well as a salad dressing, poured it over a tuna salad and this was another way of getting it into food rather than taking if off a spoon.

Had a very social week again- nothing changes but find eating around the ketogenic diet far more easy than calorie counting diets of the past. The only things I am not eating are simple carbohydrates (bum glue) and super sweet fruit so it makes eating around that quite easy, just have to watch the portion size.
Went to a very large conference on herbal medicine over the weekend in Coolangatta – they can be a wild bunch those herbalists but what was of interest was a couple a lectures on insulin resistance – the inability of some people to lose weight. What really cracked me up was the size of the chap who gave the lecture (from Boulder, Colorado) a really big boy – I don’t think he was walking the talk! Beside that it was well presented and made me think differently about a coupler of patients I’m treating presently.
Over the last week I lost weight but this week I’m going to turn up my fat burning as I only have 3 weeks left and still have to knock off 3 kgs.
I’m always interested in products that increase thermogenesis – your body’s ability to burn fat, so week I will start using this supplement called ‘Thermoburn’. The literature looks interesting so I’ll lab rat it and see how I go and report in a week’s time.

28th July weigh in day
Weight: 64kgs I only lost ½ kg but numbers on the scale are moving down (total of 2 kgs)
Waist: 76cm same
Hips: 99cm lost 1 cm (total of 3 cms)
